What is constitutional law?
Constitutional law is a branch of law that deals with the interpretation and application of the United States Constitution. It also governs the relationship between the federal government and the states, as well as the rights of individuals. If the court finds that the law or governmental action violates the New York Constitution, it can declare the law or action unconstitutional and thus void.
