What types of vocational rehab are available?

In North Carolina, veterans with a disability may be eligible for vocational rehabilitation services through the Veterans Affairs (VA) office. These services include career counseling, job search assistance, job coaching, job placement, and on-the-job training. The VA also offers an array of education benefits for veterans with disabilities, including tuition assistance and textbooks. Vocational rehabilitation services help veterans with disabilities gain or regain employment, reenter the workforce, or make career changes. These services are tailored to the individual’s particular career goals and may include job search skills training, career counseling, resume and cover letter writing workshops, help with finding job leads, and skills training. The VA also provides assistance in preparing for job interviews. They will review the veteran’s skills and experience, and ensure that he or she has the necessary tools to make a successful job search. In addition, the VA also provides access to resources to help veterans obtain credentialing or certification for the job they are seeking. The VA also offers “transition assistance programs” for veterans transitioning from military service into the civilian job market. These programs provide career counseling, information on job opportunities, and assistance with job search and placement. These programs also provide counseling and assessment to help veterans identify their career interests and aptitudes, and to explore job possibilities. In addition to these services, the VA also provides special services for disabled veterans, such as vocational rehabilitation, counseling, and job placement. These services are designed to help veterans obtain or retain employment by providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to do so.
