What type of aircraft is covered by Aircraft Law?

In Delaware, Aircraft Law covers any type of powered aircraft, including fixed wing and rotorcraft. Fixed wing aircraft are airplanes that are propelled by a motor, typically a piston engine or jet engine. These aircraft are usually used for long-distance transportation, sightseeing and cargo transportation, among other uses. Rotorcraft are aircraft whose lift and thrust are derived from rotating wings (called rotors) and are typically used for search and rescue operations, medical evacuation and other specialized operations. Aircraft Law in Delaware also covers unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), which are aircraft with no crew on board and are typically operated remotely. UAS can be used for surveillance, aerial photography, research, and other purposes. Gliders and Hang Gliders are also included in the scope of Aircraft Law in Delaware. These aircraft are non-motorized, propelled by rising air, and typically used for recreational or sport purposes. All types of aircraft within Delaware must comply with Aircraft Law, including registration, operation, and maintenance requirements.
