How is airspace control regulated?
In Kansas, airspace control is regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). FARs provide the regulatory framework under which the FAA regulates the safe and efficient operation of aircraft in the National Airspace System. These restrictions include vectoring, separation requirements, and radar services. Vectoring is the process of routing aircraft in order to maintain separation between them. Separation requirements are set limits to ensure that aircraft remain separated from one another, while radar services provide assistance to pilots in keeping aircraft separated and avoiding collisions.
