What is the purpose of the Convention on Unlawful Interference with Civil Aviation?
The Convention on Unlawful Interference with Civil Aviation (the Convention) is a United Nations treaty that serves as an international agreement to prevent the unlawful interference with civil aviation. It was adopted and opened for signature in Beijing, China, in 2010. The reason this Convention was put into place was to protect the safety of passengers and crew on planes, as well as to protect the aircraft and airports from terrorist attacks.
