How are moral rights protected?

In Oklahoma, moral rights are protected through the Visual Artists Rights Act of 1990 (VARA). This Act is part of the federal copyright law and provides artists in Oklahoma with additional protection and recognition for their work. VARA gives artists the right to claim authorship of their work, and to prevent distortion or alteration of their work that would be prejudicial to their reputation. VARA also gives artists the right to prevent their work from being used for a commercial use that is inconsistent with their wishes. In addition, Oklahoma has the Oklahoma Visual Artists Act that provides a similar set of rights for Oklahoma artists. This Act gives artists the right to claim authorship of their work, and to prevent any distortion or alteration of the work that would be prejudicial to their reputation. It also gives artists the right to prevent their work from being used for a commercial purpose that is inconsistent with their wishes. The Oklahoma Visual Artists Act also provides a mechanism for artists to settle disputes involving their work without filing a lawsuit. By providing these legal protections, Oklahoma is able to protect the moral rights of its visual artists. This is important because it helps ensure that artists in Oklahoma are afforded the additional protection needed to create and share works of art without fear of having their work altered or distorted in a way that harms their reputation. These legal protections also provide artists with some measure of control over how their work might be used commercially, meaning that their work will not be used in ways that are inconsistent with their wishes or beliefs.
