What are the laws about window tinting on commercial vehicles?

In Tennessee, commercial vehicles must follow different laws than private vehicles when it comes to window tinting. In most cases, commercial vehicles must adhere to stricter window tint laws. Commercial vehicles must have a light transmission percentage of no less than 50% for the windshield and 35% light transmission for each of the side windows. Furthermore, there is a limit on the reflectivity of the tint as well. Commercial vehicles are not allowed to have any reflectivity on the windshield and side windows. Any rear windows are allowed to have window tints with a dual reflectivity of not more than 20%. In addition, all commercial vehicles must have appropriate markings that indicate the initial vehicle owner and the vehicle’s registration number. The markings must be printed in a reflective material no more than 24 inches tall and placed on both sides of the vehicle. The markings must also be visible from the front and back of the vehicle. Window tinting laws for commercial vehicles must be strictly adhered to in Tennessee, as failure to do so can result in severe fines and other penalties. It is important to consult a local legal professional for further advice on tinting laws that may apply to your vehicle.
