What are the regulations regarding an aircraft's flight and navigation logs?

In Oklahoma, the aircraft flight and navigation logs are regulated by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation Aeronautics Commission. All Flight Logs must be kept up-to-date and accurate and must include the certificates, documents, and records required in the applicable FAA regulations. They must also include the following information: aircraft identification, takeoff and landing times, route of flight, full name and address of each person occupying the aircraft, and the place and time of each passenger boarding or leaving the aircraft. In addition, each Navigation Log must be kept up-to-date and accurate and must include the flight’s starting point, route of flight, point of destination, altitude, estimated ground speed, remaining fuel, weather encountered, and any navigational aids used. Furthermore, each Flight and Navigation Log must be kept in a secure location, must be legible, and must be preserved for a period of three years after the flight. Failing to maintain and preserve the log can result in penalties, including the suspension or revocation of an aircraft’s registration. In Oklahoma, it is important for aircraft operators to be aware of these regulations, and to update and accurately maintain their Flight and Navigation Logs to ensure they remain in compliance and to avoid penalties.
