What is the process for obtaining a flight navigator certificate?

In Oklahoma, the process for obtaining a flight navigator certificate is regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The individual must be at least 16 years of age and hold a private pilot certificate or higher with a minimum of 20 hours of cross-country flight time as a pilot. In addition, the individual must have a medical certificate, a valid U.S. passport, and an FAA written test certificate. The individual must also complete certain training requirements, including passing an FAA check ride, taking an instrument flight instructor course, and passing an FAA private flight test.
