What documents do I need for a business formation?
When forming a business in Texas, there are certain documents you must file with the state in order to legally operate. Firstly, you must file a Certificate of Formation, which is a document that states the purpose of your company, the name of the company, the address of the company, and details of the members of the company. Another document that must be filed is a Registered Agent Designation, which states the name of the individual or organization that will act as the registered agent of the company. In addition, you must also file a Statement of the Organizers, which provides the names and addresses of the company’s organizers, and a resolution or agreement that sets forth the internal rules of the company. Finally, you must submit an Application for Employer Identification Number (EIN) to the IRS, as well as a business tax registration. Once all of these documents have been submitted to the state and approved, you will be able to legally operate your business in Texas.
