Are there any limits on the number of cannabis plants that can be grown?
Yes, there are limits on the number of cannabis plants that can be grown in Wisconsin. According to existing state law, an individual can possess and cultivate no more than 12 cannabis plants in total. This includes both mature and immature plants. If two or more individuals are living in the same household, a maximum of 12 plants can be cultivated or possessed between them. Any plants grown over the limit are considered to be in violation of the law and can result in criminal charges. Additionally, if the plants are grown indoors, they must be securely locked in an enclosed space that is out of sight of children and the public. Cannabis plants may not be smoked or consumed in public or in private locations, as this is illegal. Wisconsin also has strict regulations on the use and possession of recreational and medical cannabis. Possessing more than 25 grams of cannabis can result in criminal penalties. Purchasing and selling cannabis is still illegal in the state, but some medical and recreational cannabis products are available for regulated purchase.
