What are the rules for common areas in a condo complex?
In Delaware, condominiums, also known as “condos”, have rules regarding the common areas in the complex. These include the lobby, hallways, outside grounds, parking lot, entrance to the condo building, and any other areas owned by the condo association. Common areas are shared by all residents of the condo complex, so it is important that all rules are followed in order to ensure that everyone has a safe and pleasant living environment. When it comes to the use of the common areas, only tenants and their guests can use them. Residents and their guests should keep noise and activity to a minimum and use the common areas only with respect to the environment, other people, and property. Residents cannot store items in the lobby or hallways, and no signs, messages, or advertisements are allowed to be posted in the common areas without the permission of the condo association. In addition, in order to protect property and safety, no grills or open flames are permitted in common areas, and no items should be attached to the building or surrounding structures unless approved by the condo association. Finally, the condo association will set up rules and regulations regarding the common areas, which all residents must follow. It is important that all residents follow these rules in order to ensure the safety and security of the complex and the people living there.
