What are the rights of a suspect during a criminal investigation?
When a suspect is under criminal investigation in Tennessee, they have certain rights that must be upheld at all times. First and foremost, the suspect has the right to remain silent and has the right to hire an attorney. If the suspect is arrested, they have the right to be informed of the charges against them and the right to a speedy trial.
