Can child support payments be reduced or suspended?

In Michigan, it is possible for a parent to have their child support payments reduced or suspended. This process is called modification. To modify a child support order, a parent must submit an application to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, which provides a review and grants modifications when appropriate.
