What kinds of injuries can occur due to a defective product?

Defective products can result in a variety of injuries. These can range from mild to serious and even fatal. Common types of injuries resulting from defective products include cuts, burns, bruises, fractured bones, torn muscles, and tissue damages. In some cases, defective products can even cause internal organ damage or death. Injuries caused by defective products are often worse than similar injuries caused by everyday accidents because the product is often defective by design or was manufactured with poor quality materials or processes. In some cases, a manufacturer may be aware of the defect and fail to warn consumers of the risk. Additionally, faulty products can cause psychological distress when a person is injured or damaged as a result of using the product. When someone is injured by a product that they believed would protect them or make their life easier, they may suffer from feelings of fear, guilt, and anger. In Utah, the Dangerous Products Act is in place to protect consumers from hazardous products. The product liability law holds manufactures, distributors, and retailers responsible for any injuries caused by their products. This protects consumers from defective products that could cause them harm.
