What is the liability of a seller or distributor of a product?
In Florida, the seller or distributor of a product may be liable under the Dangerous Products Law if the product causes harm to the user. This law holds manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, and retailers liable for certain product injuries or deaths that occur as a result of defective or dangerous products. In this situation, the seller or distributor of the product could be held liable if they failed to provide an adequate warning about the potential risks of using the product. They could also be liable if they knew, or should have known, that the product was dangerous or defective, and still provided it to the public. Under the Dangerous Products Law in Florida, the seller or distributor of a product may be liable for negligence if they did not provide a safe product to the consumer. In this case, the seller or distributor may be required to pay for damages resulting from the use of the product. This includes any medical expenses, lost wages or other financial losses sustained by the user of the product. Additionally, the seller or distributor may also be liable for punitive damages, which are designed to punish the negligent party and deter them from making similar mistakes in the future.
