What is a privacy policy?
A privacy policy is a legal document that outlines how an organization or business collects, stores, and uses personal information of its customers or employees. It is a requirement of the data security law in Arizona that all organizations must have a privacy policy that clearly informs customers or employees of their rights and how the company is handling their information. The privacy policy must also include information about how the customer or employee can access or update their personal information and any options they have for opting out of certain activities involving their data. Additionally, the policy should include details about how the customer or employee can contact the organization or business should they have any questions or concerns about their information. Finally, the privacy policy should provide information about how the organisation or business is protecting the customer’s or employee’s data and who is authorized to access it, should the organization or business suffer any data breaches. All organizations that handle personal data must provide customers or employees with an easily accessible privacy policy.
