What are my rights as a disabled employee?

As a disabled employee in Idaho, you have a number of important rights when it comes to your job. Under disability law, employers must provide reasonable accommodations for disabled individuals in the workplace. This means that employers must modify or adjust the workplace, job duties, or the work environment in order to allow a disabled employee to perform their job without undue hardship. For example, if you need to use a wheelchair, your employer must make sure that there is access to all areas of the workplace. Your rights also extend to the hiring process. An employer cannot discriminate against you due to your disability when making hiring decisions. This includes not asking questions about your disability during the interview process or making assumptions about your ability to perform the job duties. In addition, employers are required to provide a safe and respectful work environment for all employees, including those with disabilities. This means that they cannot treat you differently because of your disability, or harass you based on your disability. Finally, if you feel that your rights have been violated or that you have been discriminated against due to your disability, you have the right to file a complaint with the appropriate government agency. These agencies will investigate your complaint and take action if necessary.
