What is the Social Security Blue Book?
The Social Security Blue Book is a list of impairments that is used by the Social Security Administration to evaluate disability applications in the state of Washington. The Blue Book is organized into different categories that help determine if a person is eligible for Social Security disability benefits. The categories are broken down into major body systems, such as cardiovascular, digestive, immune, musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, etc. Within each category, there are criteria that a person must meet in order to be approved for disability benefits. If a person meets the criteria for a disability listed in the Blue Book, they may be eligible for Social Security disability benefits. The criteria for each listing vary based on the disability. For example, some may require a certain level of functionality or need assistance with activities of daily living, while others may require a certain level of limitation in a person’s ability to perform activities. The Blue Book is used to evaluate disability applications in the state of Washington and is an important tool for any individuals looking for Social Security disability benefits.
