Yes, an employee in Pennsylvania can take FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) leave to care for a family member with an illness that requires frequent medical treatment. This includes leave for the employee to care for a parent with a serious health condition, a spouse, a son or daughter, or a next of kin with a serious medical condition. Additionally, the employee may take up to 12 weeks per year of unpaid leave for the care of a family member with a serious health condition.
