What is a foreclosure investor?
A foreclosure investor is someone who purchases a property that has been foreclosed upon, with the intention of making a profit on the purchase. In Florida, when a property is foreclosed upon, the borrower has to wait for it to go up for auction. These auctions can be held in person or online, and are open to anyone who meets the requirements of the state (which varies from state to state). When a bank forecloses on a property, they often list the property for much less than what it was originally worth. The foreclosure investor purchases the property at the auction, and typically does any necessary repairs or renovations to the property. The investor then lists the property for sale, and can make a profit on the sale. Foreclosure investors can also rent out the property. This is another way that they can make a profit, but also allows them to hold onto the property for a longer period of time. This also allows them to make additional returns from the rental payments. Foreclosure investing can be a great way to make money, as long as you are careful and know what you are doing. It is important to research the area that you are looking at and make sure that you understand the risks involved in this type of investing.
