What is the law on organ donation?

In Maryland, organ donation is governed by the Uniform Anatomical Gift Act. This law states that a person may donate all or part of their organs, tissues, and body parts upon their death, as long as they are 18 years of age or older. The donation must be made in writing and witnessed by two people who are not related to the donor.
