When did human rights law develop?

Human rights law is a type of law that seeks to protect the inherent rights of all individuals and recognizes the importance of dignity, fairness, and equality. This type of law has a long history that dates back to ancient civilizations and is often credited as the basis of modern international law. The modern concept of human rights law is widely credited to the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. This document outlined the fundamental rights of all human beings and set the stage for international laws and treaties focusing on the protection of human rights. These laws and treaties have become a widely accepted international legal standard. The U.S. Supreme Court also played an important role in the development of human rights law, issuing landmark decisions such as Brown v. Board of Education and Gideon v. Wainright that have become widely recognized and relied upon in civil rights cases. However, it is important to note that the development of human rights law is an ongoing process. In recent years, a greater focus has been placed on the rights of women, people of color, immigrants, LGBTQ individuals, and people with disabilities. This has resulted in expanded legal protections and increased acceptance of human rights on a global level.
