What is the “material support bar”?
The “material support bar” is a law in Ohio that prohibits individuals from seeking asylum in the state if they have provided any type of material support to a terrorist or terrorist organization. This law is part of the Anti-terrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996, which clarified certain immigration matters in order to prevent terrorism.
