What is the Visa Waiver Program?
The Visa Waiver Program is a program that allows travelers from certain countries to travel to the United States without the need for a visa. Countries that are eligible for the Visa Waiver Program include Australia, France, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. The Visa Waiver Program allows travelers from these countries to stay in the United States for up to 90 days without the need to get a visa. In Louisiana, travelers allowed to enter and stay in the United States under the Visa Waiver Program face the same restrictions as any other non-immigrant visitor to the United States. This includes following all immigration laws and regulations, and deportation can take place if the traveler is found to be in violation of any of these laws. It is important to understand that the Visa Waiver Program is not a right to travel to the United States; visa-waiver travelers must still abide by the same immigration laws and can be deported if found in violation.
