How long can I stay in the U.S. after I finish my studies?

In general, after completing your studies in Washington, you are allowed to remain in the United States for a period of up to 60 days. This is referred to as the “grace period,” during which time you can travel within the United States or make preparations to leave the country. If you wish to remain in the U.S. for longer than 60 days, you will need to obtain a special visa. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for an F-1 visa, which allows foreign students to remain in the U.S. for up to 12 months after completing their studies. You may also be eligible for an H-1B visa, which is specifically tailored for foreign workers in a specialty occupation. In order to qualify for this visa, you must prove that you have the knowledge and skills to contribute to the workplace. Additionally, you must have a valid job offer from an employer in the U.S. An H-1B visa can be valid for up to three years and can be renewed for an additional three years. It is important to note that visa applications are not always approved and the process can take several months. Therefore, it is important to begin the process of obtaining a visa as soon as possible to ensure that you will be able to remain in the U.S. once your studies are completed.
