What is the difference between a tourist visa and a student visa?
A tourist visa and a student visa are both types of visas that allow visitors to enter and stay in the United States for a certain length of time. However, there are some important differences between the two. A tourist visa, sometimes known as a visitor visa, allows a person to travel to the United States for a temporary stay. The length of stay and activities allowed are usually limited to sightseeing, visiting family and friends, and participating in recreational activities. A student visa, on the other hand, is designed for foreign students who want to study in the United States. To get a student visa, the student must be accepted to a college, university, or other academic institution in the U.S., and they must prove that they can financially support themselves while studying. A student visa allows the student to remain in the U.S. as long as they maintain a full-time student status. In Virginia, students must comply with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s immigration laws when applying for a student visa. Virginia requires students to submit proof of their academic qualifications, financial resources, and proof of their English language proficiency before they can be granted a student visa.
