What are the requirements for applying for DACA?

In order to apply for DACA in the state of Idaho, an individual must meet a certain set of criteria. First, the individual must have arrived in the U.S. before their 16th birthday and must have continuously lived in the United States since June 15, 2007. Additionally, the applicant must have been present in the United States on June 15, 2012. The applicant must also have been born on or after June 16, 1981, and be at least 15 years of age at the time of their application. Other criteria must also be met, including having no lawful immigration status on June 15, 2012, and never having been convicted of a felony, a significant misdemeanor, or more than three other misdemeanors. In addition to these criteria, those who wish to apply for DACA must also demonstrate that they are currently in school, have graduated or obtained a certificate of completion from high school, have been honorably discharged from the U.S. Coast Guard or Armed Forces, or are otherwise unable to complete high school due to a disability. Finally, applicants must demonstrate that they pose no threat to public safety or national security. In order to obtain DACA, individuals must submit several forms and documents to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, including proof of age, identification, proof of U.S. presence, and the required application fee. If approved, DACA will grant individuals deferred action from deportation and also allow them to apply for work authorization.
