What are the procedures for naturalization?

To become a naturalized citizen in the state of Washington, you must go through a few steps. First, you must fill out an application (also known as Form N-400) to become a U.S. citizen. The form must be signed and dated, and you must include a copy of your green card. Next, you must submit your application and supporting documents to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Once your application is received and accepted by USCIS, you will be scheduled for an interview. At the interview, you will be required to answer questions about your application and your qualifications for becoming a citizen. You will also need to provide additional evidence of your good character and moral standing. Once the interview is successful, you will then take an English and civics test, which are designed to evaluate your understanding of U.S. government and history. Finally, once you have completed the tests and interview, you will be scheduled for a ceremony of naturalization. At this ceremony, you will take the Oath of Allegiance to the United States, and be officially declared a U.S. citizen. After this, you will be able to apply for a U.S. passport and receive other benefits of a naturalized citizen.
