What is the International Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC)?
The International Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) is an international agreement that was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1989. This convention outlines the basic human rights that all children should have. The CRC protects the rights of children under the age of 18 from all forms of abuse, exploitation and neglect. The CRC covers a wide range of rights including the right to an education, the right to health care, the right to play and the right to freedom from all forms of violence.
