What is the International Trade Law Commission (ITLC)?

The International Trade Law Commission (ITLC) is an independent body of law established by the state of New Hampshire. The commission reviews existing trade agreements and makes recommendations for new laws and regulations related to international trade. The ITLC also serves as an advocate for the state’s trading partners, negotiating and enforcing policies and regulations that promote fair trade. The commission is composed of seven members appointed by the Governor, two of whom are appointed with the consent of the Executive Council. It is responsible for protecting the state’s trading interests by ensuring that the rules and regulations of international trade are fair, just, and equitable. The ITLC also works to promote economic growth in New Hampshire. The commission identifies and evaluates current and future opportunities for the state to develop international trade relations and economic opportunities. In addition to this, the commission develops and promotes educational programs and initiatives that support the growth of businesses and individuals involved in international trade. The ITLC provides the state with expert advice from public and private sector stakeholders and assists in the process of harmonizing the state’s laws with those of other countries. Furthermore, the commission works to help businesses adjust to the dynamics of the global economy, while also protecting New Hampshire’s economic security and promoting its economic prosperity. The commission also encourages public engagement in the international trade system.
