What is the difference between public and private international law?
Public international law (also known as public international law) is a branch of law that governs the relations between countries, international institutions, and individuals. It consists of treaties, international agreements, customary international law, and cases. It may also include resolutions adopted by international organizations such as the UN. Public international law is concerned with the interactions between countries and organizations, and how this affects the rights of individuals and states. Private international law (also known as Conflict of Laws) is a branch of law that deals with the problems that arise when a legal dispute involves parties from different countries or nations. Private international law covers topics such as cross-border contract disputes, tort claims, judicial assistance, as well as the conflict between different laws of different countries. It may also include international arbitration. The main difference between public and private international law is that public international law deals with the rights and obligations of states, while private international law deals with the rights and obligations of individuals. In public international law, disputes are resolved by arbitration or judicial decision. In private international law, on the other hand, disputes are resolved by introducing the law of one country to resolve the case.
