What is the difference between labor law and employment law?

Labor law and employment law can seem similar at first glance; however, they are distinctly different. In Tennessee, labor law is a set of laws that are designed to protect the rights of workers and ensure that they are treated fairly in the workplace. This includes everything from workplace safety regulations to the minimum wage and overtime laws. Employment law, on the other hand, is a broader set of laws that governs the relationship between employers and employees. In summary, labor law provides protections to workers in the workplace, while employment law defines the relationship between employers and employees as a whole. Both of these laws help to ensure that workers in Tennessee are treated fairly and that their rights are respected.
