What is the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA)?

The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) is a federal law that protects members of the uniformed services from employment discrimination based on their military service. This law applies to all employers in Tennessee and across the United States, ensuring that service members are not disadvantaged in any way in the workplace due to their service. USERRA requires that employers provide uniformed service members with time off from work for military duty and allow them to return to their civilian jobs in the same position and pay that they had prior to military service.
