What are the laws concerning collective bargaining?
Collective bargaining is the process in which employees and employers negotiate certain terms and conditions of employment, such as wages, hours, benefits and working conditions. In Arizona, collective bargaining is regulated by the Arizona State Employment Relations Board (ASERB). The ASERB is responsible for handling any disputes which arise between the employer and employee, and for enforcing the laws in regards to collective bargaining. In Arizona, employers and employees are allowed to negotiate terms of employment, such as wages and hours, without interference from the ASERB. However, the board does have the power to assist in settling disputes between the two parties. The ASERB can authorize collective bargaining agreements, issue orders, and enforce collective bargaining laws. In addition, the ASERB has the power to certify labor organizations, which can represent the interests of the employees in collective bargaining. Labor organizations are groups of workers which are formed to advocate for the rights and interests of their members. These labor organizations can negotiate on behalf of their members, and act as their representatives in collective bargaining agreements. Collective bargaining is an important part of the labor law in Arizona, as it allows for employers and employees to negotiate terms of employment which are beneficial to both parties. By working together, both parties can ensure that the terms of a collective bargaining agreement are fair and just.
