What are the grounds for getting a marriage annulled?

In Texas, there are several grounds for getting a marriage annulled. One ground is if either spouse was forced into the marriage against their will. This can be due to physical or emotional coercion. Another ground is if one or both of the spouses were under the age of 18 at the time of the marriage. If the marriage was not properly solemnized, including if the marriage was not properly licensed or witnessed, it can also be grounds for annulment. Additionally, if either spouse is unable to consummate the marriage, then the marriage can be annulled. Lastly, if either spouse was already legally married to another person when the marriage in question took place, then the marriage can be annulled. In all of the circumstances listed above, if the marriage can be considered invalid, the court can grant an annulment. The court can also grant the annulment if it finds evidence that fraud, misrepresentation, or mistake was used in order to get the parties to enter the marriage agreement. All of these grounds for annulment must be proven, in addition to any other legal requirements, before an annulment may be granted.
