Are there any specific storage requirements for medical marijuana products?

In California, medical marijuana products must be stored in a secure, locked container in an area that is inaccessible to minors. This must be done no matter the form the medical marijuana product is in (such as a pill, liquid, or plant). Additionally, medical marijuana products must be kept away from any other controlled substances and not stored in an area with any flammable materials. In order to obtain a medical-marijuana card, the patient must be 21 years of age and must consult with a licensed physician. Patients are allowed to use up to 8 ounces of medical marijuana in non-concentrated form, or up to 6 mature marijuana plants, or 12 immature marijuana plants. Additionally, licensed dispensaries must take additional steps to secure their medical marijuana products. This includes using a security system to track the movement of marijuana plants. In addition, all medical marijuana products must be harvested and sold in the same room and must be kept away from other customers. Finally, people who use medical marijuana must ensure they keep their marijuana products in a secure location and away from minors. They should also inform their local law enforcement if they plan to transport their medical marijuana products, as this is against the law in California.
