What are the different types of media?

Social media, such as Instagram and Twitter, are platforms where users can create their own content and share it with an audience. Each type of media plays an important role in the overall information landscape, providing different content, communicating news and information and entertaining audiences. Media of all kinds is vital to communication and expression, and an important part of life in California.
