What are the general powers of municipal police?

In addition to their general powers, municipal police officers also have the authority to issue search and seizure warrants, obtain court orders for wiretaps, as well as conduct undercover surveillance and sting operations. Municipal police officers have extensive powers to protect the community and enforce the law. These powers are necessary for public safety and order. However, their power is limited to the jurisdiction in which they serve. In other words, they are only able to enforce laws in the municipality they serve.
