In regards to possession, it is illegal to possess any controlled substance without a valid prescription, even if only intending to administer it to oneself. Additionally, it is against the law to offer, give, sell, distribute, manufacture, or attempt to procure a controlled substance. It is also illegal to obtain or attempt to obtain a controlled substance by fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation. Lastly, it is illegal to possess a controlled substance with the intent to manufacture, distribute, or dispense it, or to furnish the drug to another person. All of these activities are punishable under law. Furthermore, it is important to note that even if a person is in legal possession of a controlled substance, it is still illegal to sale or distribute it without a license from the Virginia Board of Pharmacy. Violations of these laws can lead to serious consequences, including fines, jail time, and loss of one’s license. Therefore, it is important to understand and comply with the applicable laws regarding controlled substances in Virginia at all times.
