What rights does a tenant have under a lease?
In Washington State, tenants who sign a lease agreement have the right to exclusive possession of the property they have rented from the landlord. This means that no one else, including the landlord, can enter the property without permission from the tenant. The tenant is also entitled to the quiet enjoyment of their leased premises during the term of their lease. This means the landlord has a duty to protect the tenant from any interference by neighbors or other third parties.
