What is small claims court?

Small Claims Court is a court of limited jurisdiction in Massachusetts. It is designed to be a less formal and less expensive way to resolve disputes between people or businesses. Small Claims Court is a helpful way to resolve relatively minor disputes without the cost and time associated with traditional court cases. It is also an economical way to resolve disputes without hiring an attorney.
