How can I find out if my small claims court case has been decided?

If your small claims court case is in Virginia, the Virginia Judicial System website provides a few ways to find out the outcome. First, you can select “Case Information” under the “Search” tab on the website. Once the “Case Information” page loads, you can enter your case number or the name of the county and the type of case you have (small claims) to search for your case. The results page will display the date the case was heard, when the decision was made, and the name of the judge and whether your case is still open or has been decided. You can also contact the court which heard your case to find out the outcome. The Virginia Judicial System website has a list of all the small claims court locations throughout the state and their contact information. Most courts will be able to tell you the outcome of your case over the phone if you provide them with your case number. Finally, you can also sign up for the Virginia Case Information System (VCIS) using your name and the case number. Once you log in, you will be able to view information about the status of your case, including whether it has been decided or not.
