What kinds of damages can I be awarded in a spinal injury lawsuit?
In Washington, a person who has suffered a spinal injury as a result of someone else’s negligence can receive both economic and non-economic damages in a spinal injury lawsuit. Economic damages are those intended to reimburse a person for the financial losses they have incurred, typically including medical bills, lost wages, and the cost of necessary treatment, aids, and equipment. Non-economic damages are intended to compensate the plaintiff for the physical and emotional pain and suffering they have experienced. These damages include compensation for loss of reputation, disfigurement, physical impairment, and/or loss of companionship or consortium.
