What is the difference between trade secret protection and patent protection?
Trade secret protection and patent protection are two ways of legally protecting intellectual property. Patent protection prevents others from using, making, or selling the invention without authorization from the patent holder. The primary difference between trade secret protection and patent protection is the type of intellectual property that is protected. Trade secret protection is meant to protect confidential information, while patent protection is meant to protect inventions. Both types of protection provide legal rights to the owners of the intellectual property, but they do so in different ways.
