How can I pay a traffic ticket?

If you have been issued a traffic ticket in Georgia, there are several ways to pay for it. Generally, you can pay by cash, check, money order, or credit card at the Clerk’s Office in the county in which your ticket was issued. You can also mail a check or money order and/or immunization records (for child restraint tickets) to the Clerk’s Office in the county in which your ticket was issued. Additionally, an online payment option is available for certain types of traffic tickets via Georgia’s Online Services Portal. When making a payment, be sure to include the offense number that is written on your ticket, so that the Clerk’s Office or online service can correctly apply your payment. Some counties may also allow you to pay for your ticket at an approved location, such as a law office or court reporting firm. Check with the Clerk’s Office in the county in which your ticket was issued to see if payment at an approved location is an option. Finally, if you have received a ticket that is eligible to be handled by the State of Georgia’s Traffic Violations Bureau, you can pay online via the Georgia Department of Driver Services website. If you fail to pay your ticket in the time indicated on your ticket, your license may be suspended or revoked. Paying your ticket on time can avoid these penalties.
