How do I transfer my disability benefits to my dependents?

In Virginia, transferring disability benefits to dependents is possible through Dependency Indemnity Compensation (DIC). Once the application is accepted by the VA, the dependents will receive a monthly compensation that is generally based on the veteran’s rank at the time of their death. The VA also provides additional payments for medical expenses, dependent housekeeping services, and funeral expenses related to the veteran’s death. If a dependent does not receive the benefits they are owed, they may contact the VA or work with an accredited attorney to get the compensation they deserve.
