What are no-fault benefits?

No-fault benefits, also known as personal injury protection (PIP) benefits, are a type of financial protection offered to people injured in automobile accidents in Oklahoma. PIP benefits are designed to pay for some of the medical and other related expenses that an injured party might incur as a result of an accident. In Oklahoma, PIP coverage is required to be included in all automobile insurance policies. PIP coverage helps provide financial protection to injured parties such as the payment of medical bills, lost wages due to the inability to work, and funeral and burial expenses. PIP coverage also helps protect an injured party from costs related to an accident that would otherwise have to be paid out-of-pocket. PIP benefits may be available regardless of who is at fault for the accident. This means that an injured party can receive benefits even if the person who caused the accident has no auto insurance. This is known as “no-fault” coverage. PIP benefits also include a limited amount of coverage for pain and suffering. This coverage applies to an injured person’s mental and emotional distress as a result of the accident. This type of benefit is not available in all states, but it is available in Oklahoma. No-fault benefits can be an invaluable source of financial relief for an injured party in Oklahoma. Therefore, it is important to make sure that your auto insurance policy includes enough PIP coverage to pay for any medical or other related expenses you may incur as the result of an accident.
