What is the purpose of administrative review?

Administrative review is the process of appealing a decision made by an administrative agency. It’s the process of challenging an administrative ruling or decision that affects the rights of an individual or organization. The purpose of administrative review is to make sure that decisions made by administrative agencies are fair, constitutional, and in line with the law. In Georgia, administrative review begins at the agency level. Individuals or organizations who wish to challenge an administrative decision may file a notice of appeal. This allows them to explain their case and submit an official request for review. The administrative agency then reviews the decision and determines if the ruling should be reversed, affirmed, or modified. If the decision is not reversed or modified, the aggrieved party can file a civil action in the superior court. The court will decide whether to affirm, reverse, or modify the original administrative ruling. If the court agrees with the original decision, the decision will stand. If not, the court will issue an order to the administrative agency that they will have to obey. The purpose of administrative review is to ensure that administrative decisions are made objectively and within the bounds of the law. Administrative review gives individuals and organizations a chance to challenge decisions they feel were wrong or unfair. It’s an important part of protecting the rights of the citizens of Georgia.
