How often do the appellate courts review their decisions?

Appellate courts in Mississippi review decisions on a case-by-case basis. This means that there is no set timeline or frequency for when a case will be reviewed. Generally, appeals are heard by either the Supreme Court of Mississippi or the Mississippi Court of Appeals. After a case is heard by one of these courts, the decision can be subject to further review by either court, depending on the outcome. The Supreme Court of Mississippi reviews decisions that they deem important or that would have a major impact on other similar cases. Generally, if the Supreme Court declines to hear the case, the decision of the lower court will be upheld. However, the Supreme Court may choose to review the decision if there are grounds to do so. The Mississippi Court of Appeals also has the authority to review their own decisions as well as those of the Supreme Court. If either court finds that they have made a mistake, they can order a new trial or modify their judgment. In general, Mississippi appellate courts tend to review their decisions on a case-by-case basis, depending on the nature of the case and the grounds for appeal. There is no set time frame or frequency for how often decisions are reviewed.
